Two names for QB coach I heard just a few minutes ago. Kurt Roper and Shaun King Roper is probably the odds on favorite here. He work as a QB coach and OC under David Cutcliff and was the QB coach at Ole Miss for Eli Manning. He also worked for Cutcliff at Duke. With his experience he would certainly help with our younger OC's and he has ties to the area. Roper make $300K last year as a QB coach at Colorado so he is affordable as well. Roper is also a very solid recruiter, has landed many big name QB's, and was the lead recruiter for Ty Evans (Who just flipped to State) who is an Elite 11 QB. King is interesting. Very limited experience as a college coach (3 years), but is considered a star in the making, especially as a recruiter. He was named AAC recruiter of the year for 2018 by 247 sports. He has major recruiting ties to the Tampa area. And dont discount the NFL experience. He could be the wildcard here. Also you need another ace recruiter with Des taking the OC roll. King made $180K at South Florida so he would get a nice pay raise to come to State. If you want to go with the safe hire you go with Roper. You want to swing for the fence you hire King.

Had to work today and did not get to see the game I saw the score and then clicked on the highlites on Youtube and one of the 1rst things I saw was Wyatt Walker swishing a 3 and I knew it had to be a good game LOL!. I saw on the stat sheet he went 1-2 from behind the arc so apparently he wanted to see if lightning would strike twice. Good win today against an athletic team. Agree with everything Ken said. This is a fun team to watch.

I truly love how this team is coming together. I love the defensive intensity and their team play. What is developing is a team where a half dozen players are comfortable taking the big shot late, and when you combine that with a ten man rotation it allows for constant full court defensive pressure. There is still room for improvement as several times in this game turnovers resulted from players trying to force passes into tight space in the lane, but I like the aggression and can easily live with the occasional mistake. The one thing I want to see improvement in is free throw shooting as the style of ball they play can really be accentuated with free throw shooting above 70%. Ultimately, the Wolfpack wore Penn State down with the full court intensity and the greater depth. That's the formula for success for this team. I wrote several weeks back that for this team to reach their dreams, the sum has to exceed the parts, and I think I am seeing just that develop. Penn State is a quality team and were right there until at the ten minute mark remaining in the game, the Pack pulled away to keep their lead between nine and 16 points to close it out. Pack wins 89-78 on a neutral court that really had a home team feel for Penn State. Ken

My Prediction on coaching staff: Des Kitchings as Co-OC/ Running backs coach and will call the plays Mcdonald as Co-OC/ WR's coach Mike Sandord hired as QB's coach Shawn Clark hired as OL coach This would also likely mean Faulkner would be promoted to recruiting coordinator since Des would need to give that up to be OC.

Drake Thomas is becoming one of my favorite players in the 2019 class. Drake blew up one play yesterday at Shrine Bowl practice when Sam Howell was on the sideline. Howell said something like "you wouldn't have done that if I was playing" and Drake responded saying "If I could hit you, I would hit you so hard you would forget what school you were flipping too." For those who dont know, Howell is a NC QB who has flipped once and it looking to flip again.

https://insidepacksports.com/players/9937/nick-treco Mallard Creek RB Nick Treco will join the pack as a preferred walk on. How we ended up landing him as a PWO is astounding to me. I would have thought he would have gotten looks from WCU, App St, Elon, type teams and did not. He is a steal IMO and will end up like another PWO at State, Thayer Thomas.

Do not know who Bradley is but I assume he is not a dude but a university lol. I saw the V Tech game. Penn State is very athletic and has some good shooters. I say stay with what is working and dip into the App State well one more time. Been to several games in Boone the past couple of years since my daughter has been there and my biggest take away is that they dominate the LOS on both sides of the ball. Clark is one of the names mentioned for the App State HC position however I believe pretty low on the short list. Regardless we got to find someone good to keep the ¨big guys¨ rolling. That has been our biggest improvement the past couple of years. Doeren´s philosophy has always been to out physical opponents, which is the main reason I support him but the O line is the key in doing that.

Lets post em' here. Here is a name I have been hearing, Shawn Clark. Was the Co-Oc and OL coach for App State. He replaced Ledford when we hired Ledford from App St and is highly thought of as an OL coach. A name I like and will likely get push back from fans because of where he worked. Chris Kapilovic Was the UNC Assoc. Head Coach/OC/OL Coach. The one thing that UNC did well was build an O-Line and that was Kapilovic. He was their best recruiter, IMO, and one of the few on the UNC staff under Fedora that was liked by NC HS coaches.

This sucks. I understand wanting to better yourself, better pay, better opp, etc. but not only will he be in the same conference but same division. He knows our offensive and defensive play calling, tendencies, and everything else about us. Really wish there was a rule against that. I realize that sort of rule would have prevented us from getting TOB but so be it. At least have a 2 or 3 season rule. I would feel different if Ledford was hired away from an SEC school and then hired by Louisville 3 seasons later. I wish him well but I don´t like it.

Ken, I dont believe All-ACC has anything to do with it. You can be All-ACC and not be a top draft pick. Harmon is looking like a first round lock, so I understand. Pratt is unique where he has been injured pretty much all year and he has kids to think about. Basically the trend is to sit if you are a lock top pick int he NFL draft. If you are a lower round pick, you will likely play to try and improve your draft stock. For me, no number of players sitting would affect my support. For others, it apparently will, which I find disheartening. 2 players off of a roster of 85 are not playing, so what? What message as a fan base are we sending to the other 83 players if we dont show up and support them? That only the "stars" matter. Bowl games have always been about the future. Most coaches want them because of the additional practice time. That is not for the guys who wont be back, that is for the next years team. As you mentioned Chubb sat last year. He was by far our best player. Did that affect us? No, it did not. We still had 3 sacks in the game and blew out a solid ASU team. And with the 4 game rule and still red-shirt, we can see some true freshman. Riley, Provillon Meyers, Thomas Emezie, Carter This is the WR depth chart w/o Harmon, that is still better than most college teams.

I think this is the point. Under the current 4 team playoff system most bowls below the playoff games and NY6 bowls have become more "without merit, meaning, or relevance". The argument for the expanded playoff, awarding bowls for each playoff game whether it would be 8 or 16 teams, would give more relevance to bowl games. Granted it would make the lower tier bowls not a part of the play off system less meaningful but I still feel the winners of the Sunbelt or CUSA will still be happy going to the Camelia or New Orleans Bowls. The one thing that keeps potential 1rst rounders in the 4 team playoff bowls, aside from playing for a National Championship, are the insurance policies that the NCAA allows the schools to pay for. Clemson payed for Deshaun Watson's. I don't know what the financials are there but I assume the Gator Bowl is not worth us forking out the insurance policies for Harmon and Pratt. I understand the commitment that you have to your team and institution that paid for your education but I also understand the potential of losing guaranteed millions in one game. I personally would play but I also understand the other side. Regardless the expanded playoffs whether we like it or not are coming. A 6 to 8 team deal is already in the works and we will see it in a couple of years. I am sure it will be expanded to 12-16 teams soon there after. I don't buy the arguments that more games equal more stress on academics or more risk of injury. As far as academics basketball teams play 2-3 games a week minimum for 4 months of the academic year and baseball more than that. Football games are only once a week. Injuries are isolated incidents that can happen at any practice or game. I come from a FCS (back when I played D1AA) background. The National Champions plays at least 16 games. High school teams that compete for state championships in North Carolina play a 11 game regular season and then a 5 round playoff. These are 14 to 18 year old kids playing 16 games. We can argue these points about academics and player safety but the expanded playoffs are coming anyway. This will solve the issue of "meaningless" bowl games.

Pack wins in convincing fashion 100-67 forcing 33 turnovers. Catamounts not a good team but has considerably more talent than the first 5 teams we faced. They lost to Wake by 7 and only by 2 to Furman who is currently ranked 25th in the Nation. Now a 10 day break for exams and then a match up with Penn State in Atlantic City.
