Default More from Pack commit Scott Wood:

Junior commit Scott Wood went 7 of 10 from the field, including 6 of 8 from three-point range en route to 20 points, but the Indiana Senior All-Stars got the win 114-83 at Marion High School. (Julius Mays scored 9 points for the Sr. team)

Wood, who will be in Raleigh to visit NC State June 15-19, is coming off a monster effort in the Indiana AAU state tournament. Wood dropped 37 points in the title game against Indiana Elite LNO, with 26 of them in the second half in the 91-81 victory. He scored 19 straight points in the second half to fuel the SYF comeback, after they were down eight points at one point.

Thanks Derreck. This kid is putting up some impressive numbers. Do you think he may move up from a 3 star like CJ Leslie did?

People like Bob Gibbons think that he will be a top 50 player by the end of his Sr. season, so most definitely he will likely be a 4 Star by next year. He was another one of those players who did not play much AAU ball till this season and he has been tearing it up. Kudos to the staff for getting on him so early and getting that commitment before he became known.

    Sweet...

Pure stoke, quick release, comes off screens ready to bury it, creates his own shot, good handle, pretty good hops... Remind you of anyone in Duke's recent past ????

Did Monte find this kid ? Great catch :-)

He plays for the same school that incoming Freshman Julius Mays played for. While scouting Mays, Coach Lowe and Coach Towe saw him and after watching hm for a little bit new he could be a big time scorer and offered.

That kid has a silky smooth jump shot and an uncomplicated form on free throws that can be replicated with precision every time at the line. He's exactly what our team needs. He looks like the kind of kid that can destroy a zone defense.

I wish to heck we could get him and Hickson the same court. We'd be a force!

On the video, I kept thinking of JJ Reddick.

The only slight concern I have is that he doesn't elevate on his jump shot that much and a tall defender in college might be able to block the shot. But he has a lightening quick release and appears quick enough to go around someone making a run at him.

But his skills look more polished and effective than a three star player. I agree, I think his stock is going to rise.

    That follow thru is SWEET!

Kids don't understand how important it is....whether its shooting BB's or shotguns or throwing a football!

I look foward to seeing him and Mays playing together!

    Thumbs up

Yeah, Scott has a really good follow-through. His release is awesome also. I'm glad the staff recognized hime early and went after him to seal the deal.

This young man looks like a great pick up for us and probably/hopefully will be a four year player for us.

Thanks for the info and footage Derreck.
