    Default Bowl game cancelled

My initial take was that I had never heard of anything like this happening before. Upon seeking out the news article, it verified that this is the first time such a thing has happened. Today's Servpro Bowl between Boise State and Boston College was cancelled due to inclement weather! The game, such as it was, was played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. It is late December, and to say it is rare to encounter a severe thunderstorm this late in winter is an understatement. The game was delayed for over 90 minutes before the ticket holders were told the plug was pulled. Boston College held a 7-0 lead with 5:08 remaining in the first quarter.

One could note the irony. Servpro is one of the nation's leading companies in disaster recovery, primarily flood and fire related building recovery! But, even they cannot control the weather. The decision to call the game was validated as severe lightening strikes continued around the open air stadium for over three hours after the cancellation was announced and everyone left the stadium.

Does not seem right. Certainly understand the safety part of it. Just seems like the bowl director should have had a back plan.
