In the most shocking development in NCAA history, the 2020 basketball tournaments (men and women) are cancelled. In addition, the ACC has suspended all sports operations, including practices, games, and even recruiting events.

    Default ACC Tournament

#2 seed NC State kicked off their part of the 2020 ACC Tournament with a solid win over Georgia Tech, 57-48. Tech vaulted to a first quarter lead of 16-7, which the Pack precisely flipped in the second quarter to tie the game at half. They controlled tempo much better in the second half, and will play Boston College in the semi-final round.

NC State advances to the ACC Tournament Finals by beating Boston College 82-75. It was a very interesting game that the Pack dominated for all but the last five minutes of the game. At the 5:45 mark of the fourth quarter, NC State led 72-52, a a 20-point margin that was more or less maintained consistently to that point.

Then, it was 3:54 mark it was 78-59, still a 19-point advantage. That's when things got stupid! Over the remainder of the game, the Pack's entire scoring output was foul shots, of which NC State only was awarded four, and sank all of them. Somehow, in a game that BC struggled mightily in, they only needed to foul twice and yet stymie NC State's offense. The Pack was blown for more charging fouls than BC was in total over those last four minutes of play! BC's offensive strategy at that point was shot nothing but three point shot attempts and try to bang the boards for offensive stick backs on the misses. It allowed the Eagles to trim away 12 points off a 19-point lead.

Regardless, the Pack advances and BC goes home!

Florida State knocked off top seed Louisville in their half of the ACC Semifinals today, beating the Cards 62-60. The Cardinals had the ball for the final seven seconds of the game trailing by two points, but missed both a potential tying jump shot and an attempted offensive rebound put back.

So, Sunday's championship game pits #10 ranked NC State against #22 Florida State.

    Go Pack!
