In the most shocking development in NCAA history, the 2020 basketball tournaments (men and women) are cancelled. In addition, the ACC has suspended all sports operations, including practices, games, and even recruiting events.

    Default NFL Draft

No player from NC State has been selected in the 2020 NFL draft through the first three rounds. Frankly, it's a reflection of precisely why the team struggled so much during the season. Our talent level took a significant dip with the departure of the NFL-rich 2019 class.

In terms of Wolfpack players on the board, by projections of best available players, the first to grade out is Larrell Murchson (DT) as the current 82nd best available player. After him is James Smith-Williams (DE) standing at 126th. Both players were seniors in the 2019-20 collegiate season. Those two seniors are the only players who graded in the NFL prospective draft class. Those who appear on the board are considered to be the top 300 players eligible for the draft, from which only 255 will be drafted.

In truth, it would not be surprising to see no Wolfpack players drafted this year. Even though both of our seniors rate high enough to earn a draft selection, it also comes down to team needs. However, odds are in their favor to be selected somewhere in the fifth through seventh rounds. This is why getting that degree is so vital. The numbers are just incredibly difficult just to get drafted, much less actually crack a game roster.

Larrell Murchison was drafted 29th (174th overall) in the fifth round by the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans saw more in him than the draft board analysts did, because this would place him substantially higher in the evaluations than the board did going into the draft. NFL GM's all say that drafts and long term payoffs are made by keen selections made in the fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds of the draft.

    Congrats to him!

These were the only two NC State players selected in this year's draft. In other news, the 2020 Mr Irrelevant (#41 in the seventh round and #255 dead last in the draft sequence) was Tae Crowder, an inside linebacker from Georgia.

JSW will be a steal for the Skins. IMO, he was a first day pick until his injury derailed his Sr year.

Also, I think Murch is a good fit for Tenn and will see time in the DL rotation as a rookie.
"You have to understand, I grew up a NC State fan. Every State-Carolina basketball game, football game, I've been there. It's fun, and if you like to competing and I love competing... that will be extra special."
