NC State recovered from early jitters to overcome a 10-0 deficit to beat Duke at home 31-20. The defense intercepted Duke three times to give the offense the chance to win the game.

Third straight road game, something that never happens for a Power 5 conference school. NC State travels to Virginia. Game time is noon, 10 Oct, broadcast on the ACC Network.

Losing Ingle is a big loss for our D. Looked like he went in shoulder 1rst so not sure about the targeting.

Great run by Bam! That is what we need the rest of the game. Feed Bam and Person Jr and wear them down.

The targeting is being expanded this year to include any lean in with the helmet, whether the helmet actually makes the contact. Essentially, it is easy to teach now. Never use the helmet as a point of contact. As much as I hate to say it, Ingle did lower his helmet into the runner. So, by the rule, he was guilty.

This team is playing a lot better than they did at Virginia Tech.

What is it about 2nd team QBs that can pick us a part?? VA has 140 yards passing with 81 coming from their back up in just a series and a half with a drive for a TD.

Lack of pre-game scouting is perhaps a big explanation. But, the second half started off much better. Then, the blocked punt was a great opportunity given to our offense.

The back up QB is killing us. The fact that he wears #36 and has a potbelly is an insult. We should had been ready for that fake punt! Down 17 late in the 3rd quarter??

I guess our defense just finally decided, "OK, O, if you're not going to cash in on any of these golden opportunities we keep giving you, then we'll just cash in ourselves!" As nosetackle Alee McNeill picks off a Virginia pass, that he first tipped into the air, and then runs it all the way to the house!

Devin Leary may have one Achilles Heel. He may not be able to throw a wet football. I wonder how large his hands are? Long arms can provide good throwing velocity, but only if the hands can maintain enough grip on the ball to translate all that torque. This is why Russell Wilson is so successful. He's not tall, but his hands are huge!

Have these officials read the rule book? Illegal procedure is called whenever the center fails to snap the ball. The UVa center did exactly that, likely because his hand slipped off the ball. But, once that motion starts, if the ball doesn't move, then it's illegal procedure. Every official on the field failed to note that, and let UVa get away with it.
